Hebrews 10:22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from guilty Conscience and Having our Bodies washed With pure water.

Good Wednesday morning we continue this weeks theme, How close are you to God? As this week theme continues I want to emphasize on to draw close to God you have to have a desire to draw close to God. So many times as a pastor I hear people say that they want to get closer to God, they want to start a relationship with God, and they want new things to happen as they grow with God. But at the end of the day the question is do you really want to get close to God? What is in our heart and the way that we respond to God is what is going to show us truly how much we want God. In the Old Testament the Priest would go to the temple and then they would get themselves in a quiet place and they will seek God‘s face because they knew the importance of God‘s presence and the ability of hearing God. The question is are you hungry for God and are you really wanting to get closer to God? This scripture comes today that challenges us to draw close to God with a pure heart, which means a humble heart and a heart that is open to God. You can’t come to God with a bunch of agendas or our wants or even our flesh full emotions. We need to come to God because we love him and we desire to be with him. Today let us evaluate on how we are approaching God and also to evaluate ourselves, are we even wanting to draw close to God so that he can help us, lead us, and give us a ability to survive in this world? I know in this hour that God is looking for people that has a heart that is aching for his presence. Let us be the people of God that is running to him and responding to the things he’s calling us to do.
